Bone Spurs

Life Chiropractic Centre

Bone Spurs are abnormal growth at the bones in the spine or extremities. They may cause excruciating pain when interfere with nerves or muscle during normal activity and in turn causes abnormal function and motion at the joints. Pain and numbness may shoot down the arms or legs.

Bone spurs, also called osteophytes, are bony projections that develop along the edges of bones. Spurs found on spinal bones are the most common “Kut Chi” seen in a chiropractic office. These develop usually with aging or through old injuries caused by falls and repetitive strains. Most people have these ‘uninvited guests’ for years before they become aware of their existence. They are preventable, and are not painful unless they press or irritate the spinal nerves.
